Tubular Peyote and Wire Doodling!

Just learning tubular peyote with ..it seems, my seed beady colours of shades of blue..really like the twist that it is making - not sure if it's meant to look like that but I like it. Would like this to be a lariat necklace, have a way to go yet, but I'm getting quicker. At first, there was a lot of unpicking and starting over- now a little more smooth and my tension is much tighter.
Whilst  bead shopping found some sparkly fire polished rondelle beads and had some purple wire so decided to wire doodle and see what happened. just by looping, twisting and weaving purple wire. Will take better photos in daylight....

Start of the Easter holidays and time to craft!

Easter holidays...time to spend in the craft room and with family. A much needed time to rest, relax and realise what the rest of life is.
Have been reintroduced to my sewing machine through the 'sewing bee' on TV, not normal viewing for me but have been inspired by upcycling and renovating old clothes...so a trip to the charity shops will be on the cards.
Next is to finish some beading projects already started and some repair jobs.....then to tackle some of my hoard from my visit to The Big Bead show yesterday...mixed with lots of beady people and met up with friends...a lovely, yet expensive day.
lucite flowers, heart millefori and lots of thread!

Gorgeous owl cabochon to bezel and make a pendant and copper finding from my friend Buffy.

Lots of browns and gold seed beads and rivolis for my beaded owl.....own design that I'm playing with at the moment.

This should keep me busy ...but I do have the torch in the garage that has been calling me and some crochet projects to be finishing! Will post pics of my progress so far.

Lowen lace Necklace

Half term has arrived ...so out came the beads!! :)

This has been half finished on my bead mat since New Year...finally it is finished. Made up of cube, seed beads and facets it is very elegant.

Photos are in bad light but they show my process....very delicate and made for a romantic night out or special occasion.

Now need to seal and trim the threads! Next project is calling.........

Felt Owls

First blog post of the new year.........can't believe January is over and I haven't had the time to engage in crafty endeavours.

After completing chores in town, Guiding and house stuff....decided that I would finish the planning for next week and then embark on creative activities. so I decided to get my felting needles out and finish making the felt beads I started in the new year. I then looked on good old Pinterest and saw a lovely felt owl.
A little snowy owl.....much prefer this one.
The small brown owl was my first creation....he's still very cute.

...and have only broken one needle! :)
